An Unvented Hot Water Cylinder is a pressurised system which is fed directly from the cold mains water feed and therefore can deliver hot water at mains pressure, which is great for improving the performance of your shower and bath.

Unvented cylinders are a controlled appliance and must be installed by a qualified engineer who holds a qualification that complies with G3 of the building regulations. Post installation, building control must be notified either through a suitable competent persons scheme or by using a building control inspector. We are members of the NAPIT competent persons scheme and can notify building control through them. NAPIT also provide you with a compliance certificate which will be asked for if you ever want to sell the property into which the cylinder has been installed.

An incorrectly installed unvented cylinder can be dangerous as pressurised water boils at a higher temperature than normal. If this super heated water escapes the cylinder it instantly flashes to steam under atmospheric pressure and this increase in volume can cause a sizeable explosion.
